Directory of Board Ready Female Members of CA Sri Lanka

In 2019, the Securities and Exchange Commission led an initiative to increase gender representation on listed company boards. The Budget proposal for 2019 stated:

  1. that a voluntary target of 30% will be imposed immediately with listed companies being required to disclose the percentage of women on boards in their Annual Reports
  2. By 31 Dec 2020, all listed companies unable to meet the voluntary targe will be required to disclose reasons for being unable to do so
  3. By 31st Dec 2022 – all listed companies to have at least 20% of board seats occupied by women
  4. By 31st Dec 2024 – all listed companies to have at least 30% of board seats occupied by women

The Women Empowerment and Leadership Development Committee (WELD) of CA Sri Lanka took the initiative to support the above budget proposal by publishing a directory of CA Board Ready Female Members in 2019. While the budget proposal has not been enacted, we believe that there has to be a progressive increase in the number of Women on boards. Therefore, to continue to support this initiative, CA Sri Lanka has launched our online directory of Board Ready Female CA Members and inclusion in the Directory are based on applications.
